Dear Maintainer, VP9 and Opus are modern codecs which greatly improve the quality/size ratio we can get with free tools. Please ask upstream if they have any plans to support VP9 and Opus, or similar public codecs, and include them post-haste in Debian Bullseye and Bookworm :-) Yours, mooff
[mooff] Both are nice codecs, I agree. :) May I ask why you do not ask upstream about this yourself? I suspect you have more information to provide if upstream ask followup questions. I doubt the Debian maintainers have any more impact than yourself, and we are notoriaously short on manpower, so it might take a while until someone get around to passing this on to upstream. The link to upstream is available from <URL: https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/simplescreenrecorder >.
Control: forwarded -1 https://github.com/MaartenBaert/ssr/issues/634 As far as I can tell, the issue is already reported upstream, and some ffmpeg instructions are provided in this ticket.
