* Package name : foolscap Version : 21.7.0 Upstream Author : Brian Warner * URL : https://github.com/warner/foolscap/ * License : MIT Programming Lang: Python Description : object-capability-based RPC system for Twisted Python Foolscap (also known as "newpb") contains a new RPC system for Twisted Python, combining capability-based security, secure references, flexible serialization, and technology to mitigate resource-consumption attacks. This is for reintroducing the package which now has Python3 support and is a dependency for tahoe-lafs.
Hello, I have fixed the autopkgtest for foolscap. Now the package builds and passes its autopkgtest on sbuild successfully. There seem to be stochastic build failures, however. Out of ~8 builds I performed one failed with non-apparent reason. One remaining blocker is some files being installed into /usr/lib/python3.10/dist-packages/ while they should instead appear in /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/. And test outputs get installed as well. I assume it should be OK to remove everything except /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/foolscap/ from the current package. I will try that. Andrius
Hello, I have removed unneeded files from python3-foolscap binary package. Furthermore, there was an issue with building package with git-buildpackage, which I solved by updating the certificates used for tests. The package is ready for the upload now. If it is OK, I can upload it myself. Andrius
Hi Andrius, Andrius Merkys <merkys@debian.org> writes: Sorry this message some how missed my inbox and did not notice till today. I'm new to python team and I will let you do the upload. I will wait for couple of days for your response else I will prepare and upload the same. Thanks and Regards, Vasudev
Hi Vasudev, Thanks for the green light. I have just uploaded foolscap to NEW. Best wishes, Andrius
Hello, foolscap has been reintroduced into the archive. Closing the bug manually as -1 was REJECTed by ftpmaster and had to be adjusted and reuploaded as -2. Best, Andrius
