Noticed since upgrade of nvidia-driver v.470.74-1. SDDM crashes, cannot
login as usual. Messages in /var/log/message shows:

nvidia-uvm: Loaded the UVM driver, major device number 237.
sddm[996]: Error from greeter session: "Process crashed"
sddm[996]: Auth: sddm-helper crashed (exit code 15)
sddm[996]: Error from greeter session: "Process crashed"
sddm[996]: Auth: sddm-helper exited with 15

Stopping sddm and using startx to start X session works fine.

Purging nvidia-driver and using nouveau results in sddm starting as
usual.

Using gdm3 instead of sddm works properly.
