Hi, During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build on amd64. Relevant part (hopefully): The full build log is available from: http://qa-logs.debian.net/2021/10/23/freedict_2021.01.05-3_unstable.log A list of current common problems and possible solutions is available at http://wiki.debian.org/qa.debian.org/FTBFS . You're welcome to contribute! If you reassign this bug to another package, please marking it as 'affects'-ing this package. See https://www.debian.org/Bugs/server-control#affects If you fail to reproduce this, please provide a build log and diff it with mine so that we can identify if something relevant changed in the meantime.
Hi Due to the way the FreeDict stylesheets are written, a lot of memory is used. Could you provide the amount of RAM that is used for the failed build? If it is below 16G, could it be increased, somehow? Thanks Sebastian
Hi Sebastian, I use AWS EC2 m5.xlarge instances. so it's 16 GB of RAM. I could use larger instances, yes. However, the resources requirements for freedict are a bit unusual. I wonder if they should be documented in a bug (without release critical severity). Given the time it takes to build freedict, I might just exclude it from my regular rebuilds. Lucas
Hi Lucas Nussbaum schrieb am 30.10.2021, 22:21 +0200: Yes, please do. I'll upload a version that fixes this issue, i.e. documents it in the changelog and in a bug. Please let me know if you think it should be mentioned somewhere else. Thanks Sebastian
Hi The shown output is just a nuisance of espeak while generating phonemes and merely a warning. Would it be able to check memory and runtime limits? These packages consume a lot of RAM and take a lot of time, so the build failure is likely due to memory limits. That has been an issue in the past. Thanks Sebastian
