why does this package depend on package libsundials-nvecparallel-petsc4
that is a certain flavor of the libsundials-nvecparallel packages?
Wouldn't it be possible to introduce a general libsundials-nvecparallel
package which in turn depends an any of the libsundials-nvecparallel
flavor packages (libsundials-nvecparallel-petsc4 |
libsundials-nvecparallel-openmp4 | libsundials-nvecparallel-mpi4 |
libsundials-nvecparallel-hypre4)?

For example, the libopenblas0 package is a dependency package which gives the
choice to install one of libopenblas0-pthread | libopenblas0-openmp |
libopenblas0-serial.
